2008 Great China Ride

NOTE - This trip has long been fully booked out but I have left the info here so you can see what it is all about.

After searching for a number of options for our 2008 adventure challenge we have decided that we will be doing the spectacular Limestone Trail ride, starting from Guillin in South East China.

This is different type of adventure to the 2006 and 2007 rides, with a wide range of experiences including 9 days cycling, 1 internal air flight, boat and bus trips. We will also be travelling via Hong Kong and will be including a 3 day stopover in Hong Kong at the end of the ride.

Some images you will see during the 2008 adventure challenge

The total cost (including air fares, accomodation, bike hire, meals, guides, internal air flights, bus and boat trips, support vehicle and staff) is anticipated to be approx $4200.00

We already have 16 people who are booked in for this ride and therefore we are booked out. If you want to reserve a place you need to pay a $300 deposit. The remainder of the cost can be paid much closer to departure.

All air flights are being handled by Mary Oke of Emerald Lake Travel. All participants must be able to leave Melbourne together, but they do not need to return to Australia together (ie some may wish to extend their stay in China or have stopover(s) on the way back. We will be travelling by Cathay Pacific.. By all electing to travel on the same airline we get valuable benefits including greater flexibility in baggage allowances.

The company running the cycling component is the same company that has organised previous trips for us and has proven to be efficient and reliable.

I have DVDs of the 2006 & 2007 China Rides if you would like to see them. This will give you some idea of what to expect, although the 2008 ride will be to a different part of China.

If you have any other questions, please give me a call. I look forward to seeing you back in our rides in the near future.
